A lot of people describe themselves as a complex assortment of contrasting sensibilities. And maybe they are, but not for the reasons they give:
“I’m a walking contradiction: I like pop music and country music! ZOMG LOL!!1!”
“I like watching TV. And I like reading books! I’m so random!”
“I’m so unpredictable. Sometimes I like to go out and other times… you’re not going to believe this… other times, I like to stay in!”
Of course none of these things are contradictory. You like different kinds of music. You get entertainment through multiple media. You’re a human being. There isn’t even anything odd about these things. In fact, it would be weirder if this wasn’t the case.
